Privacy Policy

Nonnela helps families find care for someone they love. Doing that means handling personal information — and we want you to know exactly what we hold, why, and for how long. We have written this in plain English and explained the legal terms where we use them.

1. Who handles your information

The operator of this site is Osmo Group s. r. o. (operator of the Nonnela platform), registered at Roľnícka 483/37, Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovensko, company number 55203795, VAT number SK2121899758. We are a company established in Slovakia, in the European Union. For anything at all to do with privacy, write to sukromie@nonnela.sk; postal mail reaches us at the registered address above.

2. What we collect, and what for

When you send an enquiry to a community: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and the text of your message. We use it to pass your enquiry to the community you picked and to confirm to you that we have it. Information about your relative is a separate matter — section 3.

When you write a review: your name or a display name, an email address so we can verify the review is real, and the review itself. We publish it.

When you sign up for updates or a waitlist: your email address. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe.

If you run a community: your name, work email, phone number and job title, when you claim a listing and manage your account.

3. Information about your relative

An enquiry is not only about you. It carries information about someone who is not filling in the form and usually does not know we exist. That deserves its own section.

What we hold about them: first name (optional), age (optional), the care needs you select — memory care, skilled nursing or hospice care, for example — when care is needed from, and whatever you write in the notes.

Why:so the community knows what enquiry it is answering. Without it the enquiry cannot be acted on. Some of this describes a person’s health, so we ask for your explicit consent with a separate checkbox when you send the enquiry, and we record which wording you saw, in which language, and when — so we can show the consent was actually given.

How long: the same as the rest of the enquiry — three years from our last contact with you, then deleted or anonymized.

Where it came from, and who knows: from you, not from your relative. We do not contact them ourselves — we have no way to and would not want to surprise anyone with a phone call about moving into a care home. That is why the form asks you to tell them about the enquiry if they are able to have a view, and to share their details only with their agreement.

Their rights: your relative — or whoever is authorized to act for them — has the same rights you do: to know what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, and to tell us to stop. Write to sukromie@nonnela.sk. Either of you can withdraw consent. Doing so does not pull back an enquiry we have already passed to a community, but we stop processing it ourselves.

4. Who we share it with

Your enquiry goes to the community you chose— but not automatically. It lands in our own inbox first, and a person at Nonnela forwards it once they have checked the community’s address still works: our contact details come from public registers and go stale. So a member of our team reads your enquiry before it is sent. We send it to nobody else — no other communities, no referral brokers, no lead buyers.

The service providers that process data on our behalf are Supabase (database, EU region), Vercel (hosting) and Resend (sending email). We have data processing agreements with all three. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — under the CCPA’s definitions of those terms or any other.

5. Where your information is held

Our database is hosted in the European Union, and the company that operates this site is established in Slovakia. If you are writing to us from the United States, your information is transferred to and stored in the EU. We are telling you this plainly because it is a real fact about the service, not a formality: the EU has its own data protection law, and our handling of your information is subject to it.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries and the correspondence around them: three years from our last contact. Community accounts: for as long as we work together. Email updates: until you unsubscribe. After that we delete or anonymize.

7. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and tell us to stop. Write to sukromie@nonnela.sk and we will answer within 30 days.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and what we do with it, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing — we do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. Several other states — Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and more — give their residents comparable rights, and we handle every request the same way whichever state you write from.

8. Cookies and measurement

Without your consent we use only the cookies the site cannot work without — staying signed in, remembering your language, and remembering your cookie choice — plus privacy-respecting traffic measurement with no tracking cookies and no profiling. That measurement does not remember you between visits. The tools are Vercel Analytics (no cookies) and PostHog (EU servers, no cookies, data lives only while your tab is open).

If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, our statistics remember you anonymously on a later visit, so we can see whether families come back. An advertisingconsent only takes effect if we ever switch advertising measurement on; today we use no advertising cookies at all. Consent lasts at most 12 months and you can change or withdraw it at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawing it erases what the previous consent stored.

9. Children

This service is for adults arranging care. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to sukromie@nonnela.sk and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date on this page, and for anything significant we will tell you by email.
